Just why? Two people photo’d themselves catching, then eating an endangered Iguana. Then they posted it on Facebook and were caught – duh.

silly thing this football business

Disrespectful. A man who’s won the World Cup is given just 6mths to prove himself with someone elses team! Chelsea really are clueless Phil!

Some road traffic warning signs have been tampered with in Austin, Texas. Good bit of fun, or is it a warning people shouldn’t be ignoring?!

the times they are a changing

28 01 2009

Already approaching the end of January and what’s happend in the world this year?

  • America has a new president, Barack Obama’s inauguration was pretty epic viewing.
  • AC Milan footballer Kaka nearly became the world’s first player to cost over £100 million.
  • Here in Britain we’re now officially in a recession.
  • And as always at this time of year nominations for the BAFTA and Oscar’s have been revealed.

That’s a few things I remembered off the top of my head! How much of this have I covered in my blog? None. Only two logs have been posted, both of which having neither any real value or importance to anything.

What to do?

Well due to my lack of activity within this blog I’ve decided to take action. Nope,  not closing it, but… da da dahh! Evolving it!!

The main two reasons why the blog has been neglected is a) not having the time and b) ‘cba’. To counteract these issues I’m gonna employ a gimmick to each of my blog posts from now on (well ok, after this post). I’m gonna encorporate the Twitter 140 character limit (with exception to URL’s, quotes, video’s, images, tags, etc.) to freshen it up a little. I’m sure this idea isn’t anything unique, and there’s probs loadsa similar examples out there, well I haven’t seen them and to be honest don’t really care (as it probably won’t change my long-term blog writing technique (as in, not to write at all)).

I’m still gonna try and include the (albeit not very frequent) features I’m added in the past, including ‘England XI Verses’, ‘Top Album Covers’, ‘Quick Reviews’, ‘Love:Hate’ etc. Obviously content (and hopefully lame writing) will be reduced… Yay! But will still try and get my point (if there is even a point) across.

Well here goes let see what happens…

quick review – peugeot 206, 1.4, ‘98-’07

Peugeot 206 (not an image of the actual car)

The car I have been mostly using is my girlfriend’s 206 (Quicksilver). With it’s 1.4 engine it was a bit nippier than the Corsa, although (despite the stats found on the net) I’m sure it wasn’t as quick as my previous Rover. This 206 has had problems with the steering column in the past and I believe has had an impact on the power steering, thus making it very heavy, especially noticeable when switching to different cars. The controls are laid out quite similar to my Rover which was helpful. I like the position of the mounted radio/CD controls, but, probably due to the car taking more ware-and-tear, they are generally less responsive. The driving position is a little awkward, though probably due to the fact I’ve had much more experience with driving it (incl. through France and back) I felt more confident and comfortable than in the Corsa. Fuel seemed to go down a little too quick for my liking and the air blowers (pross not the tech term) blew in the wrong directions, i.e. when my feet were freezing, I’d turn the heat up, move the dial so the hot air should be directed to my feet, but instead it would blow toward the top of my legs and then into my face.

+  Layout, design.

- Fuel consumption, too many niggles.
